Life so far

Man, life is great so far.  I made my way here as quickly as they would let me.  I was so excited to finally meet everyone.  I've had many visitors since my arrival and can't wait to meet everyone else.  I love all of the attention I get and try to be a good baby for Momma and Daddy.  Here are some pictures to show what I have been up to.

I get lots of good sleep.  Don't you wish you could nap all of the time like me?

I spend time with Daddy.  He likes to snuggle and sleep with me when Momma gets up in the mornings.

I get to play with the bright toys that dangle from my mat.  Momma tried to give me some tummy time on the mat, but I was not impressed.

Momma and Daddy even gave in and let me have a pacifier.  I don't get it often, but when I do I hold on tight!

One of my favorite activities is sleeping on Momma's chest.  There is no better sleep than this and I know just how to get her to pick me up for these naps.  A little groaning and grunting and she picks me up for some cuddle time.  Ahhh, this is the life!

I wasn't too sure about this bath stuff at first but it's really not too bad.  My favorite part so far is being wrapped snug as a bug in my hooded towels.

37 weeks

There I am!

Today I am 37 weeks and considered full-term.  I could be here any day now or wait until I am 42 weeks.  My living quarters are really getting tight and Momma and Daddy tell me often how much they are ready to meet me.  Everything from my room to my car seat is ready when I am.  They have worked hard to prepare my room and wash my clothes and toys.  I've gotten so many goodies from family and friends.  I just know I will love them all!

I can't wait to get my mouth on these goodies!

Getting ready

I'm getting ready to make my grand appearance.  I hope Mommy and Daddy are ready for this!  I will be seeing you all soon!  Only 25 more days to go (if I decide to stay the whole time).

Note from Momma:  Micah has always moved a good bit while I am at work but for the past three days he has REALLY been active!  The majority of the time when I grab my phone to make video he will stop.  Then as soon as I put the phone down he kicks back up.  Today, although very grainy, I was able to record him "playing".  He really gets stirred up around 47 seconds into the video.  I just wish it was a little clearer.

Can't wait to meet everyone

Momma went to the doctor to check-up on me yesterday.  Everything looked good and my heart sounded great, as always!  I can't believe I am due to arrive in just over 6 weeks (44 days to be exact).  Momma and Daddy are working to get the nursery finished before I get here.  They have a few odd and end things to do before it is complete.  Mom has all of my toys and clothes washed and ready for me.  Even my changing station is ready to go.  They will be using that a lot!

My growth chart fell off of the wall AGAIN.  Even taped it wouldn't stay.  I guess something else will have to be done there.  But my curtains got hung last night.  They aren't exactly what Momma had in mind, but they serve their purpose.  I'm so glad Daddy finally got the curtain rods hung.  Tonight he is going to hang my mobile and the room will be ready for me.

Momma and Daddy have a busy weekend planned with showers.  Can't wait to see what all kinds of good stuff I get.  And Momma recently discovered she will get a discount on the things that are on my registry that no one has purchased for me.  So exciting!

My first party

Yesterday there was a baby shower in my honor.  I got so many goodies that I can't wait to use!

Grandma made a cake to welcome me!

And Mamaw made a diaper cake just for me!  It had all kinds of goodies!

Momma just kept unwrapping my goodies (most of which said I love Daddy or Daddy loves me).

And even the guests got to take a sweet baby shoe gift home.

What's been going on with me

Momma went to the doctor for a check-up on my progress Tuesday.  All is going well according to Dr. Whittle.  He is very pleased with her sugar readings and 4 lb weight loss since she started cutting back on sweets (which are my favorite thing!) and started watching what she eats.  We listened to my heart.  They do that at every visit.  My heart beat is still strong and has changing rhythms like he wants to hear.  I've been doing ALOT of moving.  I've always been a mover but it is hard for me to sit still now and I'm getting so big and strong that my kicks are almost painful to Momma sometimes.  I sure am going to miss kicking her when I get here!  The doctor commented on me moving around so much when he was listening to my heartbeat.  I don't like to sit still for him.  Momma is measuring 31 cms, which is good for 28 1/2 weeks, and weighs 155.6 lbs.  I wonder how much I will weigh.

I also figured out this head down position thing and decided to try it out for a change.  I sure did like laying sideways, but my room was just getting to small to lay that way much longer.  Momma and Dr. Whittle hope that I stay in my head down position for the next several weeks.  Hard to believe I will be meeting everyone in 78 days.  That's right!  Just 11 more weeks before I introduce myself to the world.  I hope Momma and Daddy are ready!!!
